Such Were Some of You

I Corinthians 6:11

“Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

“Such were some of you”. A sinner that is. It is wonderful not to be that one any more. We all have a testimony. Some are more dramatic than others. It’s great to be on our path with Him and know what we were and to have been rescued from that path.

As we are in Christ the fruit of the Spirit abounds in us, “love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control”. I’m sitting here writing this and His joy and peace abound. Thank You, Lord.

It’s frightening to think where my life would have taken me if I had rejected Him. It would have been at least a prodigal’s end. I wouldn’t have had heaven and I would have missed out on having God in my life. He is my Father. My earthly father passed away when I was two. God has adopted me and raised me in Him. I didn’t understand that then, but it’s obvious now.

I enjoy watching car restoration shows. Chip Foos does that. To have a Chip Foos build is a big deal. When we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit builds our lives. To have a life built by God is better. He is the master. He is all wise. He knows us completely. He knows us far better than we know ourselves. If my life had gone the way I wanted I would have been out of my element. But He had His way and it is blessed.

Thank You, Lord, “Such were some of us”. Now we are of Him. Thank You, Lord.
