I Corinthians 2:13
“We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.”
The child of God is taught by the Spirit of God. Jesus said in John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.” How amazing. The wisest of all is our teacher.
David said in Psalm 119:99, “I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.” This is true for all His children that are in His Word. We become educated in the things of God. We are wise in Him.
Which is interesting as God’s wisdom is foreign to the world. They see us as fools. I Peter 4:4 says, “Because of this, they consider it strange of you not to plunge with them into the same flood of reckless indiscretion, and they heap abuse on you.” The life style of those in the world seams reasonable to them. To us, it’s often sin. We are following Him and His ways. They don’t get that.
What is God’s wisdom. Primarily it’s Jesus and the cross. I Corinthians 1:18, 23 & 24 says, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God…but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
His Way is the way of wisdom. Jesus said in Matthew 7:14, “For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” The Spirit has drawn us to this Way.
God’s wisdom is also the lifestyle and ways of proverbs as well as much of the bible. There are many examples. Proverbs 26:17 is one, “Like one who grabs a dog by the ears is a passer by who meddles in a quarrel not his own.” Proverbs 15:1 is another example, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” There are many other examples of wise practices.
God’s wisdom is free to those who follow it and ask for it. The greatest wisdom to accept His sacrifice on the cross. That is the gateway to eternal life and a full and happy life. Thank You, Jesus for dying for us. Thank You, Holy Spirit for being our teacher, who gives us wisdom freely. Thank You, God, for You Word which leads us in into wise ways.
