Matthew 28:7
“And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”
Jesus has beat death. The plan that the trinity proposed worked. Step one was to pay for our sins. His death on the cross did that. Step two was to rise from the dead. Done.
I Corinthians 6:14 tells the result of His rising, “By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also.” We will also be raised. Praise God. This was why I accepted Christ. I didn’t want to go to hell. I am forgiven and will be raised and be with Him. It’s all for free. We don’t have to work for it. He completed it.
We do have to follow Him. That’s great. I did poorly with my life management. With that He gives us a new heart. One that wants to do His will. Awesome. His way is great. He teaches us to love one another and to put them first.
He also fills us with His Spirit, the Comforter and Helper. He gives us the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy peace, patience, kindness goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Wow! So good, God. Thank You!
Philippians 3:10,11 tells us more, “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.” He gives us power. Not like a magician that does tricks as he wills, but power over sin. He can do miracles, if He chooses. In my 20’s I felt vulnerable to sin. I can recall praying into the night asking Him to keep me from temptation. He has answered that prayer. He still does.
Psalm 91:7 gives us a promise, “A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.” He can protect us if He chooses. The numbers against us don’t matter. He is greater.
Thank You, God, for raising Jesus from the dead. You’ve given us new life and will raise us up also. Thank You, Jesus, for Your great sacrifice. Help us to tell others.
