His Great Promises

I Kings 2:4
“so that the LORD may fulfill His promise which He spoke regarding me, saying, ‘If your sons are careful about their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and all their soul, you shall not be deprived of a man to occupy the throne of Israel.’”

The promises of God for His children are many. Here's one that gives great comfort, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus", (Philippians 4:19). This is so amazing. All the worrying for the basics can be set aside.
He gives us these promises because of His great love for us. He wants to bless us and fill us. He wants us to walk with Him and be in relationship with Him. Just as we want to bless our children and want the best for them, so He wants to bless us.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." We all worry about our future. God's got it.
He does this several ways. Back to Philippians, we learn "For God is the One working in you both to will and to work according to His good pleasure", (2:13). He works on our will. He gives us new desires. Ones that are in line with Him. Then we learn Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
When one is walking with the Lord, one does what he things is right. God gives nudges and corrections, opens and closes doors. We usually end up doing things we wouldn't have imagined. He has given us a future and a hope.
Part of meeting our needs is providing a friend group. He gives us favor as we walk according to His ways. His ways are humble and kind. We don't seek our ways first and we watch out for the needs of others. This draws people.
I believe He provides a life partner. We pray for them, we put ourselves in positions to meet people, we serve the Lord and we ask when interested. This doesn't mean it's always easy. It's like Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." The sharpening process involves friction and heat, so do relationships. We allow the process to make us a better union.
What a wonderful God we have. So full of love, so He gives us these great promises. Thank You, Lord.
