Galatians 1:16
“to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not rush to consult with flesh and blood.”
Paul was a special person that the Lord chose. He spread the gospel to the gentiles and wrote a third of the New Testament. He never met Jesus when alive, but He appeared to Him after the resurrection in Acts nine. He then went to Arabia for a few years. It also seems He tutored Him. The is was unique.
However, Jesus reveals Himself in a spiritual way to all that accept Him as Lord and savior. Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” What an amazing promise.
At the fall, Adam and Eve were escorted out of the Garden. Sin had separated them from God. So it has been until Jesus’ substitutionary death. Now we can be reconciled to God just by the asking. We ask for forgiveness and begin to do what He says.
At this entrance of the Lord into one’s life, it usually isn’t felt. However, in the spiritual realm it’s like a dry, withering plant receiving an unending supply of water. The Holy Spirit enters in and takes residence in us. So many analogies come to mind: the sun rising bringing light to and warming the cold soil, the cold furnace of our hearts are ignited, our lonely, misunderstood hearts have an ever close, abiding friend, and so on.
As we learn of Him from the bible and church, He reveals His Son in us. Matthew 11:28-30 says, ‘Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”’ It says, “learn from Me”. That’s the life He wants for us all. We’ll have good times and tough times. In all of that He wants to comfort and instruct us. He makes alive the scriptures we read and the sermons we hear. This is wonderful news.
Lord, thank You that You reveal Your Son in us. Help us to stay in Your Word and stay connected to You.
