Deureonomy 32:11
“Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, That hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions.”
The last entry addressed the distress we feel at times of trial. Today we will speak of how God intervenes in our lives.
We end up in difficult spots from time to time. The passage speaks of the baby hurtling to the ground for a flight lesson. This is a trying time. Sometimes it’s our fault, other times it’s God’s design. Whichever the case the Lord helps us.
The rescue is rarely immediate. The mother gives the baby bird a chance to fly. If unsuccessful, the mother intervenes. The difficulty involves a lesson. It might be patience or character related or functional (skill building).
For us to grow, pressure is usually required to stir us out of our comfort. We addressed this topic a few entries ago on this same verse. God “stirs up the nest”. We might encounter difficult people or trying circumstances. This is a chance to grow. This process never ends. He wants us to call on Him and apply biblical behavior.
We may work with someone who doesn’t play by the rules. We get frustrated. We are tempted to respond “in kind”. However, we are to “play fair” and remain loving at heart. We can speak to them or go to our superiors. He is with us through the process. Just because the problem continues, doesn’t mean He isn’t intervening. He is teaching us.
He won’t allow things to be too difficult. I Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”
Lord, thank You for being involved in our lives. Help us to trust and lean on You.
