Deuteronomy 30:9
“Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers.”
We’re on the fourth session on prosperity. It’s awesome to think of all the ways The Lord seeks to bless us. Today we will focus on relationships. The Lord wants to bless them and give us favor. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
This passage provides an important condition, “when a man’s ways are pleasing to The Lord…”. This is God’s aim in our lives, to altar our ways, so they are pleasing to Him.
How do we know if our ways please Him? The first source is the bible. Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” 2 Timothy 3:16 is also a good verse supporting that point.
The second avenue for learning what’s pleasing to The Lord is from church. Romans 10:14 says, “How then can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach?” There are pastors and teachers that teach us about The Lord and His ways. I am so thankful for the wonderful ones that have influenced me over the past 30 years.
A third way to learn what’s pleasing to The Lord is through fellowship. We need to be in relationship with other christians. Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
As we know His ways, we learn how to treat people. By being in fellowship, we learn from healthy people how to treat others. The Lord will put us in relationships to hone those skills. Almost like a lab class. People will appreciate our sincerity in relationships. This build respect.
Lord, thanks that you give us favor with others. Thanks that You instruct us through Your Word and that You help us in our daily relationships
