We Have Bold and Confident Access

Ephesians 3:12
in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.”
Throughout history, different cultures have had their gods. I believe the god of the Aztecs required human sacrifices. I can picture other idols with very unpleasant faces. Many of these were gods based on the people’s observation from nature. When one witnesses a tornado or a hurricane, it is easy to think that the god must have been angry.
This is one of the reasons that Christianity is such good news. God is not angry. He loves us and wants to be in relationship with us. Without Christ we are still in our sin and we will be judged for it. But that is much different. We are at fault and God is seeking to repair it.
Once we are in Christ, we have complete access to Him. The Old Testament vail which kept the people at a safe distance from God is no longer necessary. The sin issue has been dealt with. We are forgiven. Our God loves us very much. He desires our attention. He wants to commune with us and bless us. Picture the kindest teacher. His face is warm and kind. He wants us to succeed. Quite different than the gods of nature.
So, contrary to our conscience and to the naturalistic view of God, we have complete access to God. The only thing that keeps us away is ourselves. We choose other activities. The tv with a multitude of channels is always there or a myriad of things that will distract us. Lord, help us to choose You.
