Numbers 11:17 “And I will come down and talk with thee there, and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee and put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. This is how God spreads His kingdom influence. It’s usually passed out individually. As we live out our faith those around us are influenced and inspired. To use an odd analogy, it’s like the spread of a virus. One catches it and spreads it to those whom he comes into contact with. Paul describes this process in one of his letters to Timothy; “Take these concepts learned from me and teach them to faithful men in whom would be able to teach others.” This is roughly paraphrased. This involves choosing particular individuals to connect with. This is discipleship. We pour ourselves into their lives. In turn they do the same thing to others. I’ve been influenced by several of my pastors. Some of them I knew personally and others only from the pulpit. I’ve been greatly blessed by these individuals. I’ve been able to do the same with others. Hopefully I’m doing this with my family. This is a natural way to grow. I’ve heard the phrase, “It’s caught, not taught.” We take on their enthusiasm and methods. Paul said, “follow me as I follow Christ.” Lord, thank You for Your ways. Help us to be both influencers and influenced by others
