He Will Give Us Enough Information

Judges 13:12-14

‘Then Manoah said, “Now when your words are fulfilled, what shall be the boy’s way of life and his vocation?” And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, “The woman shall pay attention to all that I said. She shall not eat anything that comes from the vine nor drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing; she shall keep all that I commanded.”’

Manoah has many questions about the angel’s visitation. It’s as if he is seeking to take over from what the angel is telling his wife. The angel sets him strait. This is for her. Put another way, “She understands what was shared and knows what to do.”

We often have questions for God. He may give some insight. Usually not. There is nothing wrong with asking as long as we don’t get disappointed with no answer. I can almost feel Manoah’s anxiety. Part of seeking is asking. Praying is good. He will answer as He chooses. Sometimes it’s just a reassuring feeling. A peace.

An angel appeared to Mary. She had some questions. One was, “How can these things be since I am a virgin?” The angel answered her. He gave her comfort by including her cousin in on things. So in time she went to visit her cousin. That was a great reassurance.

God can share answers. However, usually not. Mary’s was a huge situation. She needed some answers. We rarely do. We are often like Manoah with many questions. It’s good to ask. We need to be content with how and if He answers. He will at least give us peace.

Thank You, Lord. Even as I sit I have a concern. I’l pray for Your protection. Thank You.
