I Chronicles 16:29
“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the LORD in holy attire.”
The Lord is due glory. We have honorary sessions for people that have done great works. It could be about their contributions to the arts, medicine, science. We don’t think that odd. It is appropriate.
Their is a member of the arts community that as a young man took offense to God desiring worship. He confidently abandoned the faith of his parents due to that. Yet he still attends the oscars and am sure he’s received some.
Creation is the most amazing feat. The more we learn of science, the more we are amazed at it. A friend has some inner ear issues. He went to a specialist who explained some of the inner ear function. Two of the canals detect movement. One up/down while the other reads left/right (or front/back). It was clear the brilliance of design. It sounded like something an engineer would produce. Yet that is part of the design of every creature. Random development wasn’t possible. Acknowledgement and praise are appropriate. To withhold it would seem odd.
Church services have times set aside for worship. These are great. It parallels what’s going on in heaven. Revelation 7:11 says, “And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders, and the four living creatures, and they fell upon their faces before the throne and worshiped God”.
I can recall pastor Chuck saying the most sincere form of worship come when say it when we are experiencing it. It may be an answer to a prayer, circumstances working out just so. These are great times. They happen often as God’s hand is everywhere.
Glory is due Him. It is so right to offer it. Any child of God could reflect upon many miracles in their lives. It overflows. It’s a privilege to be the recipients and it is right to be thankful.
The bible teaches us to be grateful, not just in the good times but in the bad. As He masterfully uses those to mold, shape and use us. More amazing design. We can be content in all circumstances.
Who can forget Jesus and the life He lived and the sacrifice He gave. He made forgiveness possible. He stands at the door of our hearts and knocks. He wants in. That takes humility to keep knocking. Many will never open that door, yet He still knocks. Thank You, Lord.
All will acknowledge God one day. Philippians 2:10 says, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth”. In this life, we do it willingly. I one chooses not to, he will do so in eternity.
Lord, thank You for adopting us and making something wonderful of our lives. Thank You for all You’ve done for us. Thank You for the opportunity to worship You.
