Ephesians 3:7
“of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.”
The world is broken. God has His way of fixing it.
The way that God works with us is so honoring and efficient. Just as a company has many employees with different jobs, we work to make a product. There are designers who dream up different ideas, there are the engineers who mesh an idea with reality, there are the assemblers that put it together, there are the marketers which find ways to entice customers to buy it, there is the sales force that get customers, there is the financial end which collect the payments, there is the delivery dept which brings the product to the customer and on and on.
God calls us into a relationship with Him. All of us are poor in spirit, we just might not know it yet. He begins to heal our brokenness. He attends to our wounds. Part of the process is allowing us to see the struggles that we weren’t aware of. If’s a wonderful thing what God does with a life. Much of the healing comes through others. We are to attend a healthy, bible teaching church that has people that we are to connect with. Image a cut on the arm. The platelets cause the blood to clot, to stop the bleeding. Just as members of the body bring healing, so the church (your immediate one as well as the larger general one) heals it’s members. I am so thankful for the wonderful people that I’ve been in relationship throughout the years.
In today’s passage Paul speaks of “the gift of God’s grace which was given to me”. He has given us all gifts. We each have some sort of relational gifts that bring healing to one another. We also have gifts that are related to tasks, not people. In constructing the temple, craftsmen were needed. 1 Chronicles 22:15 says, “Moreover, there are many workmen with you, stonecutters and masons of stone and carpenters, and all men who are skillful in every kind of work.” God uses gifted people in many ways. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” Just as Paul had his gifts that we used mightily, so God wants to use us.
Lord, thanks that You repair us to be a blessing to others.
