Psalm 102-125 Highlights

Psalm 102
3For my days have been consumed in smoke,
And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.

4My heart has been smitten like grass and has withered away,
Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.

5Because of the loudness of my groaning
My bones cling to my flesh.

6I resemble a pelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.

7I lie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.

8My enemies have reproached me all day long;
Those who deride me have used my name as a curse.

9For I have eaten ashes like bread
And mingled my drink with weeping

10Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have lifted me up and cast me away.

11My days are like a lengthened shadow,
And I wither away like grass.

15So the nations will fear the name of the LORD
And all the kings of the earth Your glory.

Psalm 103
1Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.

2Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;

3Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;

4Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

5Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

10He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.

12As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

13Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

14For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.

Psalm 105
3He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters;
He makes the clouds His chariot;
He walks upon the wings of the wind;

4He makes the winds His messengers,
Flaming fire His ministers.

16The trees of the LORD drink their fill,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

17Where the birds build their nests,
And the stork, whose home is the fir trees.

18The high mountains are for the wild goats;
The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim.

17He sent a man before them,
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

18They afflicted his feet with fetters,
He himself was laid in irons;

19Until the time that his word came to pass,
The word of the LORD tested him.

20The king sent and released him,
The ruler of peoples, and set him free.

21He made him lord of his house
And ruler over all his possessions,

Psalm 106
7Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders;
They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses,
But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.

8Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of His name,
That He might make His power known.

10So He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them,
And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

14But craved intensely in the wilderness,
And tempted God in the desert.

15So He gave them their request,
But sent a wasting disease among them.

35But they mingled with the nations
And learned their practices,

41Then He gave them into the hand of the nations,
And those who hated them ruled over them.

44Nevertheless He looked upon their distress
When He heard their cry;

45And He remembered His covenant for their sake,
And relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness.

Psalm 107

2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary

9For He has satisfied the thirsty soul,
And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor;
They stumbled and there was none to help.

13Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble;
He saved them out of their distresses.

27They reeled and staggered like a drunken man,
And were at their wits’ end.

28Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.

38Also He blesses them and they multiply greatly,
And He does not let their cattle decrease.

41But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction,
And makes his families like a flock.

Psalm 109
21But You, O GOD, the Lord, deal kindly with me for Your name’s sake;
Because Your lovingkindness is good, deliver me;

22For I am afflicted and needy,
And my heart is wounded within me.

23I am passing like a shadow when it lengthens;
I am shaken off like the locust.

Psalm 111
1Praise The Lord!
I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.

Psalm 112
5It is well with the man who is gracious and lends;
He will maintain his cause in judgment.

Psalm 113
7He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the needy from the ash heap,

8To make them sit with princes,
With the princes of His people.

9He makes the barren woman abide in the house
As a joyful mother of children.
Praise the LORD!

Psalm 115
3But our God is in the heavens;
He does whatever He pleases.

4Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.

5They have mouths, but they cannot speak;
They have eyes, but they cannot see;

6They have ears, but they cannot hear;
They have noses, but they cannot smell;

7They have hands, but they cannot feel;
They have feet, but they cannot walk;
They cannot make a sound with their throat.

8Those who make them will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.

Psalm 116
4Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech thee,
deliver my soul.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully
with thee.

8For thou hast delivered my soul from death, Mine eyes from tears, And
my feet from falling.

9I will walk before Jehovah In the land of the living.

10I believe, for I will speak: I was greatly afflicted:

11I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12What shall I render unto Jehovah For all his benefits toward me?

13I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of Jehovah.

15Precious in the sight of Jehovah Is the death of his saints.

Psalm 118
9It is better to take refuge in Jehovah Than to put confidence in
princes.

14Jehovah is my strength and song; And he is become my salvation.

15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous:
The right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.

17I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of Jehovah.

18Jehovah hath chastened me sore; But he hath not given me over unto
death.

22The stone which the builders rejected Is become the head of the
corner.

23This is Jehovah’s doing; It is marvellous in our eyes.

24This is the day which Jehovah hath made; We will rejoice and be
glad in it.

Psalm 119
9Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto
according to thy word.

11Thy word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against
thee.

16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

18Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold Wondrous things out of thy
law.

23Princes also sat and talked against me; But thy servant did meditate
on thy statutes.

28My soul melteth for heaviness: Strengthen thou me according unto
thy word.

31I cleave unto thy testimonies: O Jehovah, put me not to shame.

36Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, And not to covetousness.

41Let thy lovingkindnesses also come unto me, O Jehovah, Even thy
salvation, according to thy word.

42So shall I have an answer for him that reproacheth me; For I trust in
thy word.

46I will also speak of thy testimonies before kings, And shall not be put
to shame.

50This is my comfort in my affliction; For thy word hath quickened me.

54Thy statutes have been my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.

61The cords of the wicked have wrapped me round; But I have not
forgotten thy law.

66Teach me good judgment and knowledge; For I have believed in thy
commandments.

71It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I may learn thy
statutes.

81My soul fainteth for thy salvation; But I hope in thy word.

98Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies; For they
are ever with me.

99I have more understanding than all my teachers; For thy testimonies
are my meditation.

103How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to
my mouth!

105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.

111Thy testimonies have I taken as a heritage for ever; For they are the
rejoicing of my heart.

114Thou art my hiding-place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

116Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live; And let me not
be ashamed of my hope.

130The opening of thy words giveth light; It giveth understanding unto
the simple.

133Establish my footsteps in thy word; And let not any iniquity have
dominion over me.

140Thy word is very pure; Therefore thy servant loveth it.

143Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me; Yet thy commandments
are my delight.

148Mine eyes anticipated the night-watches, That I might meditate on
thy word.

165Great peace have they that love thy law; And they have no occasion of
stumbling.

169Let my cry come near before thee, O Jehovah: Give me understanding
according to thy word.

174I have longed for thy salvation, O Jehovah; And thy law is my delight.

176I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek thy servant; For I do not
forget thy commandments.

Psalm 120
1In my trouble I cried to the LORD,
And He answered me.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips,
From a deceitful tongue.

Psalm 121
1I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?

2My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

3He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.

5The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade on your right hand.

6The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

7The LORD will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.

8The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.

Psalm 122
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.

Psalm 125
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the LORD surrounds His people
From this time forth and forever.
