Choosing His Way

Deuteronomy 30:15,16
“See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.”

The Lord set before them these two options, to choose life, by following Him, or death, by choosing their own way. Israel was to be the model for the world. Others were to look on this blessed nation and inquire how they may to follow God. They were blessed, however, at times in their future history they went astray. The above consequences were given. When they followed God, they were blessed, when they didn’t, they were disciplined.
The choice begins with an initial one, but becomes a daily one. While on God’s path, but there are diversions all throughout. To choose God’s way is done all throughout the day.
We have the same choice before us. To be a christian starts with an initial choice; we become born again. After that to walk with Christ is done multiple times a day. Our choices may be prompts or commands to follow or sin and selfishness to avoid.
We will make poor choices. To continue in that mistake takes us far away. However, it takes one decision to get back on His way. We ask for forgiveness and help to walk His way.
Lord, thanks for Your way. Help us to stay on it
