Deuteronomy 30:9
“Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers.”
Today we’ll focus on financial prosperity. God will bless us financially as we are walking with Him. This will look different for all of us. Some will be wealthy, others will be on the lean side, but confident of needs met. Most will be middle income. Our own stage will be a blessing as He is meeting our needs. The right balance for each of us is when we are making enough that it’s useful, but not a hinderance. .
A preceding lesson to prospering financially is learning to give. This is when we learn to trust Him. In Luke 21, Jesus praised the widow for giving a few coins. He said she was more generous than those who gave thousands. It’s because she gave of that which she needed.
The lesson of generosity transfers into all parts of our lives. My biggest struggle has been with my time. I have my agenda. It rarely has room for interruptions. The Lord has shown me that people are more important than my plans. I should be open to interruptions. Those tend to be the times He’s using me. I should pray and seek them.
What about my agenda? This is where we learn about The Lord blessing with abundance. If we take time time help others, He somehow helps us with our own tasks. It may be our project goes smoothly and quicker than expected. He blesses our generosity (Malachi 3:10).
We will be happiest when we are at the stage He chooses. This is another level of trust. As we put our lives in His hands, He will supply according to His will. We will be filled worth worry when at the wrong place. When it comes to provision and trust, Jesus says we should learn from nature. “Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns — and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they (Matthew 6:26)?”
Lord, thanks for Your provision and prosperity. Help us to be as generous
