He Leaves His Mark on Us

Exodus 34:34-35 “But whenever Moses went in before The Lord to speak with Him, he would take off the veil until he came out; and whenever he came out and spoke to the sons of Israel what he had been commanded, the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would replace the veil over his face until he went in to speak with Him.” I’m not sure what the explanation is other than that those that are with God take on some His radiance and joy. Moses was especially close due to his position. Therefore he was expecially radiant. God leaves His mark on us. Someone may be weighed down with anxiety. Jesus says in Matthew 11:29, 30,”Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” The lightness can be seen in their faces. Just as they were heavily burdened, now they have been relieved. It’s visible. Peter and John had an associative experience. Acts 4:13 says, “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” Proverbs 3:11 & 12 says, “My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD Or loathe His reproof. For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.” He doesn’t correct us only to punish, but to teach us to be better. Peter and John were directly taught by Jesus. We are taught by His Word, church teaching, friends in Christ and the Holy Spirit. In a sense, He educates and trains us. Thank You, Lord that You love us and work in us. You leave Your mark on us. Thank You for Your joy and Your tutoring.
