Moses’ Blessing, Pt III

Numbers 6:24-27 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, “speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, ‘On this wise you shall bless the children of Israel, you shall say unto them “The Lord bless thee and keep thee. The Lord make His face to shine upon thee. And be gracious unto thee. The Lord lift us his countenance upon thee and give thee peace.”‘” This is part III of this passage. It’s too good to rush through. Today I’m going to focus on “And be gracious unto thee.” He is gracious to all of us, we just don’t recognize it. He allows our heart to beat, he keeps the universe functioning, we get joy out of things, we’re usually healthy… But that is a general graciousness that everyone gets. Today is focusing on the grace He gives His children and more specifically His children who stay in a place to receive it. Rev 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” When we accept Christ we get an audience with Him. It’s like going to a ball game and getting to sit in the club boxes with someone special. He wants to give us His grace, but will we accept His, so as to receive it. God wants to give us even more grace. We get this by obeying Him. Jeremiah 7:23-24 says, “but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.” He blesses us not because we have earned it, but because we are following His advice. It’s like going on a hike. We could go our own way or we could follow the ranger’s advice. By following God’s ways we are blessed in several ways. We avoid problems by doing so. Secondly, He blesses us because we trust Him. Whenever we give to God, He gives much more in return. By obeying Him, we give Him our trust. He will bless this. How does He bless us? It may be with health, good relationships, financial, growing in spiritual giftings and more. The biggest blessing is getting to know God. We begin to get in sinc with Him. What’s it like to walk with God? Matt 11:29,30 says, 29″Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30″For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Life will have it’s burdens. Even as we walk with Christ, we will have them. With Him, they will be managable. In fact, He engineers things that allows them to make us better. Without Him, they can be overwhelming. The passage also says we will find rest for our souls. Another wonderful biproduct. Lord, thank You for Your grace. Help us to walk in it.
