We are His Messengers

Daniel 2:27,28
‘Daniel answered before the king and said, “As for the secret about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, sorcerers, soothsayer priests, nor diviners are able to declare it to the king. However, there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed.”‘
This is a miracle. The king asks Daniel if he knew the dream and its interpretation. Daniel says that no man can know it. However, there is a God in heaven who reveals these things. I love this. He is introducing God to the king. This was God’s intent. He started out by giving the king the dream. This got the kings attention. He was so troubled that he gave the unreasonable request of his wisemen.
The king thinks he is the one in control, the one with all the power. Not so. It’s God. Daniel walks into the kings presence. I’m not sure if the king doubts Daniel. He thinks he has the power to send him to his death. He is about to be introduced to God.
Daniel is just the vessel. He is delivering a message to the king. On a much smaller scale that’s us. If we’ve been redeemed by Him, then He is in us and works through us.
Matthew 5:14 says, “You are the light of the world. A city lying on a hill is unable to be hidden.” We are the light, because He is light and lives in us. It’s like saying we are lanterns, yet He is the flame. We are to send the light of His truth and power to those we encounter.
2 Corinthians 5:19 is His message, “that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” We are telling others that God loves them and wants to be in relationship with them. For that to happen they have to confess their sins and receive His forgiveness. That’s the message of reconciliation.
A bigger part of the message is that God loves them and wants to be in relationship with them. “For God so loved the world…” This is amazing news that’s for all.
People are ready in their time. For the king, God created the opportunity. He gave him a disturbing dream that brought Daniel to introduce him to God. God works in all our hearts to draw us to Him. We enter seasons in which our hearts are ripe to hear. Just as God gave the dream that made the king want to hear from God, so God puts things into our lives which make us thirsty for Him.
It’s up to the person to open their hearts. Sometimes they are ready other times not. We present the message if they are ready and withhold it if not. We aren’t to cast pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6).
The universe spins as God wishes it to. So also do the circumstances of our lives. His hand is in much. So also are our circumstances, our thoughts and so on. He wants to reach us.
Thank You God that You do reach out to us. Help us to be open to hear from You and to share Your message.
