2 Samuel 22:7
“In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.”
What a great God we have. He can save. We can toss up an emergency cry and He'll be there. David was in battle and became exhausted. He would have been killed in a minute. Here's what the previous verse says, "The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me." He almost died. But he cried out to the Lord and was rescued.
This is frightening. I can't imagine being face to face with a violent person who is beating me and knows it. My failing is increasing his adrenaline. My efforts aren't working. Help is needed. Help! God steps in. It reminds me of when Peter was walking on the water. He was doing it, but was distracted by the waves and sank. Jesus reached out and saved him.
God hears our cries. He is aware of our situation. He knows when the situation worsens. He also knows when we go from calm to panic. He won't give us more than we can handle (I Corinthians 10:13). We might disagree with that. He has our times in His hands.
Thank You, God for hearing our cries. You are ever faithful.
