The Battle is the Lords

I Samuel 17:47
“and that this entire assembly may know that the LORD does not save by swordor by spear; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will hand you over to us!”

The battle is the Lord's. There are many issues in our lives in which it's the same. How is this so? If we are a child of God, then we are walking in His ways. Many of our encounters are preordained by Him. We might run into a bully, have a difficult coworker and so on. As we pray for a resolution, we are committing it to Him. This doesn't mean they are God's enemy. He may want to help each of us toward a positive outcome. Even if the other party doesn't comply, God will work a good work in us.
We need not fear as we go out into the world. True, there are hostiles out there. God promises to protect us. I Samuel 2:9 says, "He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail." How does He do this? Part of the reason is that He is God. He knows all and can control all. He will allow us to encounter problems, it's that He regulates them.
Why do we have difficulties, if He can control them? I Peter 4:12 says, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you". He says it's for our testing. A test car is for the purpose finding and working out imperfections. The Lord is trying to make us better.
He wants to use us to bless others. 2 Corinthians 2:15 says, "For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing." The trials squeeze us. What emits from us isn't anger and bitterness, but grace and patience. That's the fragrance of Christ that blesses others.
He wants us to be at peace, even though we are in battles. Philippians 4:7 says, "and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Sure we get stressed, but He wants us to rest in His power and in His peace. This is a byproduct of His presence. When He enters our lives, His peace comes. The passage says, "it surpasses understanding". It won't make sense. We should be worried. However, the battle is His, His strength is ours and He promises to fight with and for us.
Lord, thank You for fighting for us. Thank You for selecting only those battles that will help us and bring blessings.
