Entrusted with a Task

Galatians 2:7
“But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.”

Thank God for Paul’s mission. He was responsible for bringing the gospel to the rest of the world. Romans one speaks of how the Lord reaches those not of His original fold. But the end goal was for all to be in it. I like Paul’s choice of words, he “had been entrusted with the gospel to the” rest of us. Does the Lord entrust us with tasks or missions? Absolutely.
We all have our part of the world that we are best suited to reach. We have a particular radius of people that we have access to. There are plenty of people that are more gifted and charismatic than us. However, we are equipped just so and are available to our groups.
Availability and access are the key. Those that are at the top of the social class are occupied with their own circles. The Lord has put us in ours. Just as Paul was entrusted, so were we. Our job is to be a witness of Christ in our realm.
How do we do that? We are to exude the fruit of the Spirit where we are. Galatians 5:22,23 details that list, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Most are kind and gracious when things are going well. Difficulties and friction are the presses that causes the fruit to be emitted. We may be exposed to difficult people or circumstances. We will have an adverse impulse, but the Lord challenges us to be kind and gracious. When we obey, He fills us with the ability to do so. A lifestyle of this makes us more Christlike.
Sharing His message and exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit is how we reach our world. We have been entrusted with our lot. Lord, give us the grace and help us to seize opportunities as they arise.
