II Thessalonians 3:5
“May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.”
“May the Lord direct” are wonderful and hopeful words. In terms of all of humanity, each of us is insignificant. This is often how we feel. Yet, each of us in our hearts knows we are important and yearn for validation. We have a God who has the ability to focus on us and give us the attention we crave.
We have different stories and different needs. We desire someone to give us that attention. The Lord has created things in a manner that our parents are to meet many of those needs while growing up. But no parent can reach all areas in a child. Unfortunately some parents have no insight about their children. Particularly due to the fact that children are unable to articulate some needs.
If we look at the complexity of people, there has to be an all powerful God. Anything short would leave all empty. Part of the good news is that we have a God who desires to direct, care about and attend to us. Jesus referenced this in the Lord’s Prayer, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”. It’s become vogue to have a counselor or a life coach. That is helpful. God does this in the most significant ways.
How wonderful that the Lord wants to do for us. It like a quality company that provides a service. The buyer can boast that his car, house or whatever was modified by…How much more to have a life built and operated by God. Good news.
How do we sign up for this direction? Romans 10:9 says, “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” The “lord” part puts Him in charge. Just start reading the bible and trusting, then enjoy the ride
Lord, thank You for guide care and guidance.
