Heaven, The Ultimate Excursion, pt V

Deuteronomy 32:50
“Then die on the mountain where you ascend, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.”

We will continue our look at Heaven. The notion of our activity there was raised. We saw that there are great things here. But we also have great sorrow. The Lord promises to wipe all those things away.
The question still stands, what will be do there? I know this life has many joys. If it is dark in comparison to Heaven, then that means there will be even better things. The Lord matched our desires with opportunities here. And it’s awesome. He will do the same there, but far better.
Here on earth, we have an appreciation for beauty, so we paint, hike in nature and decorate. We may have that same function in heaven. We enjoy thrill, so we ride bikes and drive cars. We rock climb. That may the case in Heaven, but far better.
It’s tough to understand the next life with minds that can understand this one. It comes down to trust. We know that God is good at this and He loves us. He says Heaven will be perfect. We are to trust Him.
Filmmakers promote their movies with trailers. I believe the wonders of creation and all the joys addressed are part of that trailer. The Bible also gives some hints. There will be eating (Rev 19:9). The tree of life bears twelve kinds of fruit and does so monthly (Rev 22:2). This is another clue that whatever was on earth will be far superior in Heaven.
The movie 127 Hours has a guy aggressively hiking and mountain biking in Utah. He gets trapped later, but that’s not my focus. The beauty and thrill of those scenes made me think of Heaven. Yet somehow, it’ll be far greater.
Lord, thank You for Heaven.
