Deuteronomy 7:17,18
“If you should say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?’ you shall not be afraid of them; you shall well remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt”.
God has great things in store for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, ‘but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”’ The things He has prepared for us haven’t entered our minds. They are bigger than our imaginations.
What kinds of things are awaiting us? They are different for everyone. What is common is they that we will love them. Proverbs 3:5,6 says that they will be the desires of our hearts. While we haven’t conceived of them yet, when we are in the middle and look back on life, we will ve satisfied.
Another common factor with these things is that they will challenge us. Today’s verse illustrates this. God wanted them to take the land He promised. However, He first wanted them to drive out the mighty inhabitants. This overwhelmed them. We also will be challenged.
We will need to trust Him at these times. God told them in today’s verse to remembeer what He did for them. God has delivered us plenty of times. This builds our faith. He wants to trust Him for the next level.
He won’t overwhelm us. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that He won’t give us “more than we can bear”. We have experienced this, thus far. A present trial may appear to be too much. However, He will help us.
Lord, thank You for Your the great lives You want to give us. Even though things may appear to be too much, You will make it work. Help us to trust You.
