Reach Out With Compassion

Jude 22,23 “And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh”. The Lord wants us to reach out to others. His heart is towards them. Because He put His heart in us, we have His desires. So we will want to reach out. He gives several examples: doubter, borderline and those walking in the flesh. We are to be merciful to the doubters. Merciful, because if we have strong faith, it’s because God gave it to us. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.” We shouldn’t grow frustrated with those who are weak in faith. Lord, help us to be better. We are to reach out to those who are walking on the border. Jude says, as if “snatching them out of the fire”. We aren’t to give up on these. We may grow frustrated with them. “Why are you living in the danger zone?” For the same reason, we need to be patient and continuing to reach out. “If not for the grace of God, there go I?” The last group are those believers that are walking in the flesh. Again, “if not for the grace of God, there go I”. We need to minister with compassion. Sin will beat them up. They are weary and ashamed. We are to give them grace and mercy. Jesus says in Matthew 10:7,8, “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.” Lord, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Help us to ever appreciate You and be eager to reach out.
