He Chose You Long, Long Ago

Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.
When I was younger in the faith, I didn’t focus on this, because I didn’t understand it. How could God’s choice and our choose fit together? Because I couldn’t grasp it, I didn’t think on the fact that God chose us. What a great thing, we’ve been chosen by God. Much like being chosen for a recess game in school, we feel wanted. Not just by our friends, but by God. The creator, the all powerful and the all loving. He is significant, the who’s who. If status matters, then we are in the “in crowd”. We have been accepted by the most loving of all. We become secure, when we are accepted completely by our attachment figures. God is the ultimate. We take this by faith. We need to allow this to bless us. With all that comes at us that belittles our confidence, allow this to sink in. We are God’s children, whom He chose us before all this started. Sometimes we fear if we’ll make it. We are important to Him, He will keep us. Just as Adam and the Lord had a special relationship in the Garden, He knew of us back then. He was thinking of us. We can put ourselves in Adam’s shoes and walk with God in that perfect state. How can God think about and love all of us? Don’t know, but He is able. Believe Him and let that “specialness” sink in. But doubts creep in; how can I be so special when I’m going through ______? That’s part of His training. He promises to be with us and make us better. It doesn’t diminish His love or our “specialness”. Walk today with Him, as if in the Garden; almost as if it’s just you and Him. He has the ability to hold you in His attention and He does.
Thank You, Lord for Your choosing us. Allow this to sink in.
