Thank Him, We’re Using All His Stuff.

Exodus 4:31 “…and when they (the elders) heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.” This is what people do when they know that God loves them; they bow down to worship. So why is it so many aren’t? There are plenty of people that are hurting, but they aren’t focused Godward or they cling to something that is a false representation of God. Others are defiant towards Him. This is difficult to understand, as He is wonderful. Many are unhappy that God gave a particular way. They want to reach Him on their own terms. In spite of this, God still pursues us. John 12:32 says,  “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” God loves us all and is constantly reaching out towards us. We are blessed in may ways. A general blessing given to all is creation. I see this world as a giant store which is a mix of a REI store, a motorcycle store and a Fry’s Elect’s. All of us are let loose to live in this megastore. We go from one interest to another. In the morning we get some gear and go rock climbing. In the afternoon, we take out a motorcycle and in the evening we get to listen to an incredible stereo while browsing on a computer. We go to bed exhausted as we look back at what an incredible day we had in a great place with all the cool things. What are these things I’m describing: good health, a happy heart, good friends, nature (trees, ocean, the mountains, animals), hiking, biking, inventors creating great products (cars, computers,…) by knowing laws of science, etc. The question we rarely ask ourselves is whose stuff is this and how did it get there. It’s all God. He loves us so much that He gave us this incredible world with endless adventures. Our hearts flood with joy over our day at the megastore. Only to dream of another day and how we are going to fill it. All of these cool things in our world are partly how God draws us. It used to be a given that He was the creator. However, since Darwin our world has been doing everything it can to erase God’s influence. This is partly the work of the devil. But God still gets through. His love is persistent. One by one, many look to God and realize that He’s concerned about them and they respond like the elders in our verse, they bow down and worship. As we continue to walk with God, He continues to show us His care at all levels. We still bow down. His mercies are new every morning. Thank You, God.
